After having cooked with mis matched pans for 20 years I finally was going to treat myself with a complete set. I looked diligently at many sets, I wanted the best quality for the best price. Although this set does distribute the heat nicely. A few people had made comments about the oxidation of the outsides of the pans, I thought what's the big deal? I should have paid attention. I have owned this set for close to 2 years and have regretted it ever since. It constantly ruining my dish towels with a horrible grey residue. I'm sorry but I am not going to hand wash my pans every time. It's ridiculous the mess they still make. I hate these pans. Even though they do the job okay. The mess they make, even after scouring is unbelievable! Do not buy these pans!!!

The only, and I mean ONLY, gripe I have about this set is about the handle material. The silicone is great, but the actual metal that the handles are made from is not very pleasing to the eye. It functions fine though. I have owned this set for about 4 months now. I have cooked with Emeril, Caphalon, Analon, and other similar brands. Overall, these have been my favorite. Follow the manufacturers care instructions that come with it, and these should last for years to come. Also, I highly recommend "Pyrex" silicon coated cooking utensils for use with this cookware.

I'm not going to pretend like I'm some culinary expert. I cook for my family and sometimes guests and that's about it. But I do love this set! What I like about it is that it feels like substantial cookware - it isn't light and flimsy like aluminum cookware. I have a ceramic top stove, and I like that these pots and pans don't slide around on the cooktop. It drives me crazy when cookware does that. This cookware cooks evenly, and clean up couldn't be more simple (unless a little arm comes out of the handle and cleans itself - can you work on that, Kitchenaid?). Overall, I highly recommend this set. It's pretty, it's great quality and I'm happy I ordered it.

I bought my Nespresso machine after visiting Europe this summer and staying with a friend who had one and also in a hotel where they had one in the room. It really does make pretty good coffee and if you like good coffee this is a good, easy to use machine with a good range of coffees. The frother works really well - or rather it did for a month and then gave up the ghost. Will not switch on - so now I guess it will be a struggle to get it replaced - not what one expects with a high priced item after only a month of light use - and I was away from home for one weeek.

Would give it a much higer rating but reliability is obviously an issue. Now we will see what customer service is like - hopefully better than the product!

Update - revised rating based on customer service which is outstanding. Called and they shipped replacement there and then which arrived 2 days later (and is working fine) - fingers crossed but cudos for customer service.

So we purchased this machine after using a manual espresso machine for years. We first used it at a friends house and loved it, but I was very hesitant because I am extremely picky about my shots.

We have been completely overwhelmed with how awesome this thing works and the beautiful crema it produces. The shots are perfect every single time.

So how has it changed our lives? I no longer have to spend 10 minutes making our drinks every morning - now it's one minute. One.

Note: the shots from some of the stronger coffees they offer can be a bit bitter, so we prefer the Cosi.

My friend told me about the Nespresso and actually brought hers to my house to try. Once you try the nespresso, which comes with pods like Keurig does, you will never go to Starbucks again. It turns out to be about $.50 a cup and is absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this machine. the price of the machine can be a little high but Amazon had it at the lowest price. I have the CitiZ version and haven't tried the other versions.

These glasses have a beautiful sexy shape and really enhance the wines i've drank from them. Although different reds need different shapes, this one has a good all-around curve that works well with most reds.

That being said they are extremely fragile. I have bought a total of eight glasses for myself and gifts and 5 have broken with what I would consider seldom use. Most of the time it is during washing/drying, but sometimes it happens for no apparent reason.

I want to replace them but will look for a little sturdier glass.

I have >100 Riedels and I use them as my everyday wine glasses. I love the difference it makes on the tasting of the wines. I have now done several demonstrations for my friends and they all agree that it really enhances the experience of tasting the wines.
As to their fragility...I have only broken 2 - a chardonnay and a burgundy one. I think those are more fragile.
I do handwash them, use very little soap and really only rub the rims...and most of the time I wash them right after the party. I find my experience very different than some of the comments

I purchased these as a Christmas present for my husband because he has become interested in learning about wine and because both he and the glasses were made in Austria. They arrived undamaged and were well packaged. I read in a review that there have been problems with breakage and inadequate packaging. Hopefully, Amazon has corrected this problem.
The glasses are beautiful and HUGE. I don't know a lot about wine and I overfilled them the first time we used them. I learned you should only pour in about the same amount a normal size glass would hold. Each glass could hold a third of a bottle though! The size, my husband tells me, is part of the design to enhance the characteristics of the wine. The large bowl increases the surface area exposed to air in order to improve aeration and the tall sides act to concentrate the scent and direct it toward your nose. I poured some of the wine in one of our old glasses for comparison and there was a big difference in the scent of the wine. In the Riedel glass I noticed the scent the moment I lifted the glass to my face and in our old glass I barely detected any scent at all. The wine tasted much smoother to me from the Riedel glass. Since the senses of smell and taste are closely linked I think that alone makes a big difference when using these glasses. I have also read that the Riedel glasses are designed to direct the wine toward specific areas of your mouth so that makes a difference as well.
I am a little concerned about breakage. We aren't the most gentle on glassware ourselves and I don't think we have ever had people over without at least one glass of wine getting knocked over. The glasses are very tall and the stems and sides are made of thin glass. I doubt they will survive getting knocked over but we will see. In the meantime they do make a lovely presentation on the table.

This pan is the best pan I've ever had. I bought it almost three years ago, and I still use it almost every day. It is still in excellent condition and the nonstick surface still works great. Unlike Circulon, which peels, and Calphalon, which I had to replace after not very long, this pan is one I would recommend with no reservations. Clean-up is a breeze; no need for soaking anything. I won't buy anything but Anolon from now on!

This is a large sided saucier and works very well when you have something that needs to be stirred or mixed frequently when you cook. Doesn't quite replace the stir fry pan but is a close second if you need just one pan. I use this when I do up several pounds of ground beef or sausage. The high sides protect me from my wife as I spill less from the pan into the stove. Very good price and the pans last for years.


Anolon 81990 Review by dylanite

This is a very large sauce pan, more than adequate for our needs. It browns meats well and is excellent for saute... however, after just a few uses it shows "scuff marks" on the sides and bottoms. Not scratches, as I am very careful with the utensils I use... only plastic, never metal. It has a warranty but a very generic one (for manufacturers defects only). Just hope these "scuff marks" do not escalate.

Overview


Historic America was originally introduced in the 1930's as a tribute to america and reintroduced in 2001 in warm tones of sepia to reflect the sense of history. Each piece features a finely detailed engraving of a famous American city or landmark as a tribute to the memories of early America. The designer selected over 30 different scenes all about 100 years ago, from which copper engravings were made. To lend unity to the series the famous over all "oak and acorn" design was used as the pattern for the border of each piece. Many interesting examples of this designs are to be seen today in the American wing of the Metropolitan Museum and also at the Philadelphia Museum. A distinguishing back stamp bears the Amercian Eagle and the title of each scene. Some of the scenes include the Capitol Building, Boston Harbour, NY Crystal Palace, The Clermont River Boat. The twenty piece set includes four each of a 10 - inch dinner plate, an 8 - inch salad plate, 6 - inch soup/cereal bowl, teacup and saucer. All pieces are dishwasher, freezer, and microwave safe.

....a nice dinner set. There is nothing misleading about this dish set. The colors are all the same as photographed, only better in person. I love these dishes so much! I have them displayed in my china hutch. A very nice way to display art & history in one.

These are beautiful dishes. Unfortunately, they were poorly packed at the factory in the original boxes, and many of them arrived badly broken. I originally wanted a 12-place setting. I anticipated there might be a broken piece or two, and ordered a 16-place setting instead. Guess what? Almost every single box had either badly deformed, misprinted, or broken dishes in it - but I really liked them. What did I do? Ordered another 16-place setting, of course, sorted out the broken and deformed ones from the good ones, and returned a 16-place setting. I mean, yes, it was a lot of work, but I ended up with a (nearly) perfect 16-place setting for a C-note after coupon, and that was just too hard to turn down since I liked the dishes so much. Where there is a will there is a way, but I probably wouldn't do it again. Sorting all the dishes, repacking them, and shipping them back (even though Amazon did pay the return shipping charges because they arrived broken due to poor packing) was just WAY too much work. Once I got them sorted though, I must admit, they were an exceptional value, and they are very nice looking (while I do believe them to be factory seconds, some of the flaws were very minor, and not noticeable - these are the ones I kept). Amazon was reasonably nice about taking the broken ones back, as always, and I only had to do one follow-up email to get the full amount credited back to my card (for some reason, Amazon nearly always figures out a way to miscalculate the refund amount on returns, although I doubt if that is intentional). But all is good now. I have my very nice 16-place setting of English dishes, and Amazon has their C-note. Nice deal, but a lot of work!

I bought these in 2004 and writing the review NOW! This means that I can provide a very candid and correct picture.
(a) The product is NOT very heavy.
(b) The porcelien is very stable and does not crack up.
(c) The pictures in the plates/etc. STAYS. I use them EVERY DAY and wash them either by hand or in d.washer. So far - no issues.
(d) The plates are BIG - easily and comfortably can suit all requirements for a full-fledged dinner
In total - it services 4 persons.

I bought 3 of these and must say they are great for the back. Then recently (18 months)one started to curl at both ends and have been tripped several times. They need to work on this. At first I thought maybe it was me, but I saw another reviewer who has the same problem.
Greta when they lay flat, a hazard when they start to curl.

We purchased these mats three years ago to cushion our feet on the brick floor of our kitchen. We both work full time, so the kitchen is only used two or three hours a day, max. At first they were great, but now they are completly flat. Nice but only if you want to replace them every two years.

I'VE OWNED A BUNN COFFEE MAKER FOR SEVENTEEN YEARS. (THE SAME ONE) BEFORE I BOUGHT IT EVERY TIME I BOUGHT A NEW COFFEE MAKER IT WOULD ONLY LAST FOR A FEW MONTHS AND I WOULD HAVE TO BUY A NEW ONE. SO I KNEW WHEN THIS ONE WORE OUT IT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED WITH ANOTHER BUNN.
I SHOPPED AROUND LOOKING AT PRICES AND THE DIFFERENT MODELS.I FOUND THE BEST PRICE AT AMAZON.COM.

I BOUGHT THE BUNN-O-MATIC BTXB (THERMAL) ITS EASY TO OPERATE,IT STARTS MAKING AS SOON AS YOU POUR THE WATER IN THE TANK,MY OLD ONE DID THAT ALL SO,BUT IN THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE NEW BUNN ITS SAID WOULD MAKE IN 3 MINUTES AND MY OLD ONE WOULD MAKE IN A BOUT A MINUTE. SO I WAS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED THINKING THAT IT WOULD TAKE LONGER TO MAKE.

Have owned Bunn Coffee Makers for almost 15 years....thought this one would be great...NOT. It still makes great coffee quickly..BUT the insulated theraml carafe doesn't keep the coffee hot for more than 15-20 minutes. With no heating burner underneath to continually give off heat..coffee gets cold way too quickly. Got it as a gift for x-mas & don't have the heart to tell the generous giver how bad it really works. Will go back to BUNN ...but sadly this one was a waste of money. Wish I could have changed my mind before this purchase..

I found this coffee maker at a thrift store and they didn't know if it worked or not. I bought it for $5 without testing it. When I took it home it dripped water all over my counter. I was able to take the top of the maker apart with six screws and found that it was leaking water where it drained into the holding tank. I was able to buy what I needed to fix it at the hardware store for $3.
Having fixed the leak I was ready to test coffee maker. The only problem was I didn't have a manual. So, I tried to brew coffee immediately and kept getting luke-warm coffee that was very weak. I decided to download a manual on Bunn's website and realized you have to let the water in the tank heat before brewing. I did that and it made a very hot pot of coffee. That means you can't just turn this coffee maker on and brew coffee. That's why the power switch is called the vacation switch. You have to leave it on to keep the coffee in the tank hot. That's how you get a hot pot of coffee in 3 minutes. The cold water you pour in goes into the tank and forces the same amount of hot water out into the waiting coffee beans. If you don't leave it on you will have to wait 10-15 minutes for the water in the tank to heat up.
I cleaned the pot and coffeemaker thoroughly before making any coffee in it, so I didn't have a problem with the carafe dripping right away. I did notice after a few pots of coffee that it began to drip when I poured. I have found that you can usually fix the drip by scrubbing the lid and the carafe paying close attention to the spout. I think most of the problem with drip comes from build up when you simply rinse the carafe instead of washing and scrubbing.
A similar problem I had when I first bought it was a problem with the coffee not draining fast enough into the carafe. It was brewing faster than it could drain. I inspected the drain hole in the carafe and found that it has a removable rubber insert. If it drains too slowly you can remove the insert and clean it thoroughly and scrub the drip hole in the carafe lid.
As far as the carafe keeping the coffee warm, I have brewed a pot of coffee and gone back an hour later for a second cup and it was still hot. I don't think that is going to vary from one buyer to the next. The only thing I can assume is that people who complain about it not keeping their coffee hot either go back for a second cup hours later or didn't make the coffee properly in the first place. The advantage of not having your coffee scorched by a burner far outweighs any disadvantage that the carafe may have for me. After all, if the coffee does get too cold you can just dump it and have a fresh pot in 3 minutes.
Overall I would say that this coffee maker does require a little more care than most others and has far less features, but when used properly it makes a very hot, good pot of coffee and it does it quickly. Just remember to leave it turned on and clean the carafe thoroughly.
